KC, the HSCN coals also use N2 fraccing to enhance production; very different completion to the horizontal wells MEL has been using for the past few years. Perhaps this will change in future.
As for the tight sands fraccing - as Dex said, they are proprietary - but still governed by laws nonetheless regarding chemical make ups.
Here is an overview sheet of the chemicals, terms and purpose for many of the 'stuff' used in hydraulic fracturing, albeit from a corporation carrying this out themselves.
One of the main differences you will find for the stuff being used in MELs fraccing would be the proppant types used. The nature of the sandstone reservoir would require different size and shaped 'proppants' that have higher tensile strength to support the higher closure stresses.
The US EPA currently has a 2 year study running on the effects of fraccing chemicals and ground water. Results arent due out until 2012.
The USA treats fraccing very differently, as they have with CSG as well, unfortunately.
