Gilead's drugs are by some margin the best that have trialed, and the only regimens that will supersede such medications that can be taken once a day without significant side effects would be those that can eradicate the virus faster, e.g. with a 1 week course. There are virological reasons why this might not be possible, though RNA silencing technology might eventually do this. BIT225 is a low potency drug and it is nearly impossible to see how it would be incorporated into a short duration regimen for HCV. Its interest lies elsewhere.
