IMA zinc is spot on regarding on market buying, yes. If there is a placement however, (bearing in mind what they can place in a year) then that theory goes out the window. The one thing to note however is that if Rio wanted 25% they would have to launch a takeover (being over 19.99%) or get the OK not to.
Specualtive??? to an extent yes, but it is in the final stages of BFS and that is when the big miners get in. The exploring (which they don't usually do themsleves anyway) is almost done ..... so the interest WILL be there. How they get their hands on a slice of the pie is another matter.
