tcisboss.....I have told the story about one house...it was on the market for 85,000 in APR 2000, owner was relocating for a job, I tried to buy it....owner lost his job took the house off the market.....put it back on the market 3 months later for 115,000....I had just done about 50,000 on the tech wreck....I snapped up the house and signed the contract...was not going to let it get away from me..... neighbour across the road, from that house...their son living at home was always going to buy in the area, but he thought 85,000 was too high, then he thought I was stupid to pay 115,000,....8 years later he is still living at home, he thought I may be interested in selling...(he reads the papers, thinks everyone is going to panick and sell)...he offered me 250,000...about 80,000 less than market value....he cannot get finance because he just bought a new car, and has too many credit cards.....
he and parents go to every open house, or house for sale in the area....everytime the houses are too expensive.....
a house was on the market for almost a year....came down from 330,000...eventually was advertised at 230,000 (marriage breakup) even I was thinking of buying it, such a bargain price...but its gone...rogue agent(another story).... and the son still did not buy...waiting for houses to go lower....truth is ...he is just a tyre kicker...that list of 10 excuses....he must be in his 40's by now....still living with the parents, has a good paying job....but obviously not a saver..... oh and there are no houses for sale in that area now....most others are closer to 400,000 since late Nov early Dec
