    The next major low after 1987 was the gulf war low of Jan 1991 when the SPI hit 1184 which was close enough to half the 1987 high of 2364.

    OK, not perfection, but never expect perfection.

    So if this bottom isn't close to not one but several meaningful figures I will be surprised.
