I'm doing some research on this company, and about M2M and IOT in general. This may seem a stupid question, but if these hardware devices Netcomm are targeting for connection to their Wireless M2M broadband device, all of a sudden start getting manufactured to feature a SIM card, and are able to connect directly to the internet (in a future where IOT has matured and almost everything is connected to the internet directly, and not having to go through a router), how will a M2M broadband device remain necessary except in rural locations where there is a great distance to broadband towers and therefore require an amplified signal range?

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me out with this question. I'm new to this area but keep reading about how big M2M/IOT is going to be so doing some investigating

    Cheers
