I'd imagine that if you undercut the distributors margins for half the goods you stock then the distributor wouldn't be particularly interested in negotiating the best of terms for the remaining stock that you do purchase. It would hurt their other (more profitable) customers.
itd be impossible for many resellers to arrange all the accounts and delivery terms required to deal with all suppliers directly but it definitely happens for some such as apple which dicker data dropped as soon as they got express data because there was no profit on the revenue
