I should have known the Chinese President was actually lying when he recently outlined the serious problems that China faced during this crisis and how they underestimated its affect on his country's growth.

Re. the American consumers habits, yeah, they are the worlds greatest consumer all right and China and the rest of the world felt the downturn in the US economy immediately.
Hopefully we see some life there by the end of the year but it's looking increasingly more likely that the US will not see a strong revival, but rather an aneamic one, and also, not for another 1-2 years yet.

I understand your points and agree on a number of them but maybe for varying reasons.
I think you hit the nail on the head earlier.

Just in general, all these economists and analysts coming out of the woodwork forecasting a recovery in late 09 early 2010, are the same ones that 18 months ago were talking about a decades long prosperity derived through China's unstoppable growth. They didn't have a clue then and I doubt they do now.
