cyclops I suspect pgm is not widely recognised as a gold stock. Surely they do have cash burn? They are a fair way from earning an income. The location and enviroment may confound a few australian investors. There are a lot of gold stocks out there many with good stories and seemingly under valued by historic standards. Not every one wants speculative stocks and most people are facing an uncertain future so speculation isnt popular.
Catalysts for share appreciation include being the target of a take over, escalation in precious metal prices, and finding more resources. An improvement in investors confidence in the world economy would also be postive though off set by this possibly reducing interest in gold. I would think it not unlikely one or more of the first 3 factors could occur in the next 2 years. I think in this market you have to be patient and accept it is highly probable an investment will show a paper loss in the medium term. Iam looking for investments Iam confident have long term value. I know Iam not clever enough to make money in this market. I look for stocks with potential catalysts for near term gain and if they dont materialise long term value. I think ags and irn are in that category.
Iam puzzled by the remarks concerning the desirability of being near Icelands geothermal energy. Surely it is not feasible to get this power to Greenland? Freighting the ore would mean alot of double handling. I have read most of Greenlands power is hydroelectric. I would imagine hydroelectric could be a cheap enviromentally friendly power source in Greenland. I have no idea of the availability of any electricity in Skaergaard.
