Hey Plough. I neither feel your opinion is right or wrong. It is your opinion which you are perfectly entitled to . I rightly or wrongly judge him far harsher than yourself. You are right he has fallen on his sword. But where we differ in opinion is that as the chairman he would of had far greater insight to the day to day activities of the company and that of the NC than you or I .So if happily remunerated himself excessively knowing where the company was at then that was disgraceful , if he did not know where the company was at then he was negligent in his duties and should not have been remunerated to the extent that he was. Either way you cant have it both ways. "Just my opinion , nothing more and nothing less".
