Understand your argument. It depends on if the low grade tails is displacing potential higher grade ore feed through the plant. Its about maximising copper output when the price is high. Its likely Dik will have even higher grade feed from the U/G in a couple of years time. At that stage the mill might even be looking for lower grade feed to control recovery levels.

There's always the argument about maximising direct NPV versus having time to find more reserves. About three years ago the push was to find more local orebodies within trucking distance of Dik and nothing came up. Maybe they were a bit too cash strapped (+ operation start-up focussed) at the time and need to have another look at the local area. Who knows. It all seems to be going well at the moment though.
