The meeting in the Members dining room had about 100 or so in attendance and there were lots of known friends and family. To use a parliamentary term half of the questions were Dorothy Dixer's.
Proxies for re-election of the Chairman were about 17% against.
I hate to disappoint but you probably wont be surprised to learn that none of the answers were earth-shattering.
My overall impression is that the company is in transition from a family company to learning how to be more responsible to shareholders. The auditor was to attend but apparently 'missed his flight'.
The most disappointing aspect of the meeting was the underlying attitude of the board that they are infallable and irreplaceable despite the disappointment of the last 3 years.
