That leads , for me , to an interesting question.

The deniers don't put as much effort into disproving the other lines of evidence , as they do to the temperature records.

Is it because these lines of evidence don't hold the public's attention as easily as the temperature. Maybe it is a message learnt from Tobacco company misdirection over smoking related cancer deaths.
