    Hi (Pencilin),

"No-one has been able to say what the outcome of their high level talks were with the Cameroon government??

Why were they there and what did they achieve from it. It would be good to know their efforts have not gone to waste on this trip"

As suggested by the following article, I guess they were there to bring the latest developments on the mining agreement (Mbalam Convention) in order to secure the government approvals for Mining permit application, etc.., some last details before financing.

According to a statement released yesterday by the Minister of Communication, a Casa C212 aircraft type, registration TNAF and operated by the Congolese airline Aero Services, is missing. The aircraft was chartered by Cam Iron Company, incorporated in Cameroon, involved in the exploitation of iron Mbalam, to make an international flight. He assured in fact carrying a delegation of officials from Sundance Resources Limited, the financial partner of Cam Iron, of Nsimalen to Yangadou in northwestern Congo - Brazzaville. The delegation, led by Geoff Wedlock, non-executive chairman of Sundance Resources Ltd. has arrived in Cameroon last Thursday midday for the Board of Directors of the Company to be held for the first time in Cameroon.

Upon his arrival last Thursday, Geoff Wedlock and his entourage were received by Badel Ndanga Ndinga, Minister of Industry, Mines and Technological Development. The trip Yangadou was necessary as Sundance Resources Ltd is interested in another iron mining project that the company plans to combine with the Mbalam project in eastern Cameroon. It was after visiting the site Yangadou that the delegation had to reapply that of Mbalam before returning to Cameroon, where his schedule included this Monday, June 21, a meeting with Cam Iron to bring the latest developments on the mining agreement (mining convention) expected by the Cameroonian government to complete the record of mining sought.

Exploitation of iron Mbalam is part of large government projects to develop the mining sector. The project required more than 3.5 billion dollars of investment for an annual production of 35 million tons of iron and this for 20 years. It would generate about 3,000 jobs with the added bonus of building a railroad 450 km to sell the ore to the deep water port of Kribi on which work began preliminary construction. The feasibility study of the exploitation of iron Mbalam was already buckled, as well as its environmental impact. The reserve volume reported is important. About 2.2 billion tons of which 175 million tons of rich ore. The company Sundance Resources Ltd is an Australian company. She held the capital project Mbalam up to 90% against 10% for Cam Iron Company.

The aircraft type CASA C-212 used by the delegation, is a twin-turboprop high wing with a versatile classical structure and a fixed landing gear. Its cargo area large and adaptable adapts to a wide range of missions such as transporting people and cargo. It can carry up to 25 people or a cargo load of three tons.

    Cheers - BS
