Testosterone medication for impotence conditions has been available for the past 15 years, but only on prescription.

The existing methods of delivering the medication are:

. implant (in buttocks or elsewhere at 3mnths 6 mnths intervals)
    . patches
    . oral capsules
    . cream/gel

There are issues with each method which could be discussed, but
in the context of ACR there are questions re Axiron entering the market:

    1. What will motivate medical professionals to recommend Axiron rather than existing products/methods?

It is possible that EliLilly will promote the product outside its natural market (impotence), just as Viagra and Caelis have penetrated the recreational market, but the existing impotence medications are being promoted by Eli Lilly's larger competitors, and are confined to addressing impotence problems, so the superiority of Axiron will presumably be based on the 'technology' or method of delivery, rather than the medication itself or marketing strategy.

    2. How will the delivery of a dose of Axiron be measured each time?

The present weakness with creams/gels is not simply 'stickiness' but the difficulty in measuring a correct dose; the other medications do not have that problem.

Reliability and accuracy in measuring will also be relevant to all other medications being promoted for use with the Acrux technology.
