From Bizzo in May (Bizzo used to mine the site so his thoughts hold a lot of weight) :

The reason we sent it to Australia was the local mills would not treat the ore for us. It was high in Sulfides and very high grade compared to their dirt. It was to hard to separate and get a true value for them and us. We did do a bit a lab work with the mills to try and work it out

If someone can point me to a document where NTL has addressed this please let me know

You might want to research the upgrades at the Waihi mine to the processing and water treatment facilities in the area. Things are much more advanced since back in bizzo's day.

I commend you for stringing together the posts on HotCopper and coming to a loose conclusion but you might want to research by contacting the likes of HDC and looking closely at the facilities available down the road.
