The more a stock moves, the higher volumes it trades - (irrespective of the price under or over 10c as a $5k, $10k or $50k daytrade is still a daytrade at 8c, 10c or 50c) the better for trading.

You want to stop day-trading - outlaw on-line accounts.

Algorithmic trading is another matter ... read this first ...

Some call it BOT trading, others call it market manipulation for want of a better understanding.

Essentially (IMO) it's part of the game and the best attitude is to respect it's there and try to understand how it works to your benefit.

If any stock is going to run on fundamentals it probably will ... and it's generally the daytraders that get shaken out of their shares anyway when stops get triggered.

So either play the old fashioned Texas-holdem until you wish - or try to play the game in the real world of on-line trading ASX2010 style.

The fact the ASX allows algorithmic trading most certainly assists the ASX to create turn-over - the very reason the ASX is vibrant and is (still)currently independent of the Asian stock markets (so far).

Ban the bigger boys from playing their computer games and the ASX will dry up and be absorbed within Asian markets as the Asians really know how to play markets - that's what most of them wake up for most days and there's a heck of a lot more of them than true-blues!

Personally - I hold a few long and trade a few for fun.

    Regards
