    muzz,

Colin Barnett has said he is not considering awarding the project to any other parties. He has welcomed the Chinese to be part of the project by supplies and part of building it but the ownership is not for consideration.

He has said this publicly but the journalists that love the propaganda have chosen to ignore that and run with ambiguous stories to help sell papers.

He has welcomed the Chinese to invest in the ownership by inviting them to invest in MMX, which may well happen after the studies are completed and the project get the full green light from Mitsubishi and MMX.

He has said that Mitsubish "can fund it"

He has emailed MMX holders that emailed him emphasising the importance of the project and that "The state maintains it's support for the project" regarding Murchison Metals and OP&R.

Murchison are in active communication with the government and are very confident that they will work this out.

In terms of when Barnett will announce his decision, that is his call, although he has emailed back a holder using the words "shortly" Examining his exact words, it would be extremely unlikely that he wouldn't approve a 6 month extension from what he has actually communicated.

What he wants is project delivery and he is frustrated with the delay. My belief is that he is trying to get this delay shortened and examining ways in how to do it. That certainly wouldn't involve what the negative media are misquoting.

Mitsubishi can't pull out of Jack Hills. They are committed to paying Crosslands the payment which is expected to be in the $billions. They assured Barnett they won't be walking away from OP&R with which they will be organising funding and receiving good income from, (the charges to customers will be based on making profits)
