There's a few things that could change the landscape.
First, an announcement by Siemens that they are about to commence construction of their magnet plant in Gebeng. This would add a great deal of credibilty to Lynas' business and the benefits it will bring Malaysia. What politican would want to turn away the business of the German manufacturing giant?
Secondly, an announcement of successful output of purified rare-earths would remove many of the technical risks.
Thirdly an announcement of a gypsum (waste) customer would silence SMSL and their concerns once and for all.
