Hard to know what is triggering the interest in the stock at the moment, unless insiders have heard that the business is operating better than expected. Copper and tin prices haven't been moving up much since the turn of the year, for instance.
Brainchip investors are more excitable than normal at the moment, expecting some milestone announcements, and the stock has been in and out of trading halts. I think MLX owns 4-5% of BRN, maybe $15-18m? If that really took off it would push MLX higher too.
