yes i am a farmer and a share investor - have bought plenty of gnc last couple months - i anticipated big crops in nsw and vic - though i am in qld - it may even get too wet in some places but still think a big crop more likely
i would be interested in comments from other farmers particularly!
i was somehat devastated by merger announcement as it had the potential to dilute any earnings boost from a big crop - i was lucky enough that i decided to buy some awb after the graincorp offer as i had to try and capitalise on a potential counter offer, as any counter offer could have been met with an increase from gnc which could have depressed gnc shareprice- hopefully agrium has them scared off!
i believe the gnc offer was as much about egos and monopolising storage and handling as anything - why would graincorp want landmark?? Awb and graincorp have been longtime enemies and graincorp couldnt believe the chance to have a merger where they would have been larger partner - thanks mostly due to the malting acquisition.
