I sold at the high 50's earlier this year. It would have been a disaster investment wise had I not picked up shares at 40c. As it was, it just turned out to be a way of preserving capital through a the GFC. You are right about disappointment though as the gold price had doubled in the time I held shares and the share price had halved so I figure either the company was badly managed or the company was badly managed. In either case, nothing has changed except the the management are now digging gold in UK.
But my money has moved onto to greener pastures. My 50c shares in RMS look a lot more healthier than my shares in ALD ever did. However never say never again ad by my reckoning the $3.00 share price still means 50c in the old money. I will watch the ALD technicals and wait for a run.
