Hi hippies, I have been holding iva on and off for some time. I have done well from this stock (but have also been lucky as it has had some horrid falls)
My view is they spent money like water for a few years and boy have they sunk some $ in holes.
When RIO got control of IVA canada many of the followers i think dumped the stock (hence the falls form $2 to $1) There is a worry that RIO may decide not to pursue development as fast as an independent would as rio is busy with lots of other great assets (or it might want to sell its stake ).
Also I guess now only 100m shares are what i would call liquid...so it is an increasingly illiquid stock.
I just think its a really good asset. Osbourne is covering some costs, and merlin (and yeti??) hold some lovely blue sky.
Prior shareholders have done their dough with the two placements..so i think we are now buying not the hotel developer, not the next buyer, but the third buyer..and we are getting a bargain.
Its all INHO. I am a punter! Please dont rely on my half baked ideas :-)
