Quiktracks spread spectum system is very good as a land based system for security monitoring. Satellite systems are very easy to jam with low powr transmitters and this is where the competition fall down when offering a secure system. The quik system is to a large degree foolproof and in time will become reconised as a more secure way of monitoring. ADT /Tyco are investigating (obviously) using a more secure system for their current land line equipment is South Africa and most likely are looking at a replacement for GSM systems in other parts of the World. In Australia there are some so called high tech point to point security systems installed at are very easy to defeat if you have the right people involved. To disable the the QTK system would be very hard if not impossible due to the encoding used. Now there are some knockers of qtk on various web boards and some of their comments carry some weight, especialy when it comes to market disclosure of the company in relation to the Chinese fiasco. So i do agree that the management have been a tad clumsy in its dealings with the shareholders. One thing is that it is not clever to try to attack the technology that is being used by the company, it is still cutting edge and to have one of the largest NYSE companies such as Tyco sniffing around could in time push this stock very much higher than what it is currently trading at.The last announcement did indicate that there could be a strong possibility of some serious collaboration with ADT/Tyco and this will be a company maker for QTK. But first we need to see some indications of dollars coming in the door and building shareholder confidence in the management.
