It is an ill wind indeed that blows no Goodes (bad pun intended). Adam Goodes can now breath a huge sigh of relief because we have now found ourselves a new whipping boy in Walter Palmer. We need the villain....that outer target upon which we can focus our own inner rage. That target shifts with time. Yesterday's Adam Goodes is today's Walter Palmer. This is not to say that Mr Palmer's act is not despicable but rather the question should be why do we feel the need to vent so viciously and so continually. We will hear about poor old Cecil all day today and tomorrow and next week and until a new target arises in our collective consciousness and Walter Palmer and Cecil will be forgotten and Adam Goodes by then will probably be perceived as a real good bloke.

The only thing that will never change is the inner rage. It is inexhaustible and all consuming.
