Unless people vent their rage (why inner rage? it seems pretty external here?) nothing would change. People just going "Ho, hum, another animal staggers around with an arrow stuck in him for 40hrs before someone puts him out of his misery. Poor lion. What's for tea darling?" is hardly going to get anything changed and will only hasten extinctions of species.
