R.I.P. siamese parrot

R.I.P Neil Davis (1953 - 2017), aka 'Siamese Parrot'.
Neil died on Monday evening after a battle with cancer and I felt that it would be fitting to mention it on the threads of a few of his favourite stocks over the years.
Neil was a chess master, blackjack card counter, horse racing expert, resource stocks guru and my business partner for the last 17 years.
He made a small fortune during the 1970s gold boom and was one of the best self taught gold stock analysts in Australia. It enabled him to retire from his hated secondary teaching job and never work in the rat race again.
However, by the 1990s he was again looking for ways to make a living outside the stockmarket and became an expert first at casino blackjack and then Australian thoroughbred horse racing. We formed a business partnership in the online gaming industry in 2000 and were business partners until his passing. The business, combined with some canny investing made him into a millionaire, but he always led a very frugal life and never spent much.
He was a difficult person at times but had many admirable qualities and was a truly unique individual. No doubt many of his posts bear testament to this!
I'll miss him greatly and his knowledge and judgement about gold stocks will be irreplaceable. He did not want a funeral or wake as he said it was just an excuse for people to get together and eat food.
