FWIW here's my "stating the obvious" theory on the transparency effect on SP.
Suppose companies T (Transparent) and O (Opaque) are identical except for the degree of transparency.
If the true prospects are good, then T's SP will be greater than O's SP.
If the true prospects are bad, then T's SP will be lower than O's SP.
