I agree a lot of your sentiment, and yes the FTO discovery was very lucky and would have happened regardless of Daniel's involvement.

However, without his pre-FTO financial involvement, it's possible that RAC may not have been able or willing to fully capitalise on that discovery. I'm not sure how precarious their situation was... they may have been on their last legs (or wound up), or not appreciated the magnitude of what that meant and headed down a different path (e.g. offloading Zantrene cheaply out of desperation).

Also, when you say "FTO and following findings were not Dr. T at all", IMHO Daniel must take some credit for findings post-FTO (e.g. heart safety). Though for sure there's luck involved there too, but as they saying goes you make your own luck.
