Investment brokers & fund managers have morning meetings and briefings & decide to recommend stocks and then buy their clients into specific companies together, gaining or controlling within the broking house, substantial positions and easily 5% in smaller companies, if added altogether.
Large holders of course influence shareprices simply by adding to or altering their own holdings, of course.
