Maybe BG’s broker is walking the price up so they can dump the lot into the buyback at a higher price? Take a breather the last two weeks of the financial year when tax loss selling might be expected and sell into the potential bump on the other side?
Note - I don’t believe in the conspiracy theories that bill is trying to f$&k RAC. Maybe he just decided to sell at at a rate that doesn’t materially impact the share price (we’ve been smacked recently in similar proportions to peers which don’t have a BG), Maybe he just prefers to take market price over time because he is/was actually bullish on RAC’s prospects... i.e. rather than sell out in one hit at $x when he started, he thought the return might be better by selling out over time?
