Everyone shouldn't forget that the Synthorx transaction started with discussions well before the buyout occurred (and in the case of Synthorx well before dose escalation safety data was released).

Don't discount the potential of discussions being started well before a trial starts or reports data.

Sanofi started discussions with Synthorx in October 2018 which was 9 months before the IND for their Phase 1B and 14 months before the buyout (and Synthorx had already commenced private discussions with another "Company B" before October 2018 - we don't know how long before).
