Sounds like a terrible experience
Yes nobody would get a central line if they had a choice - not only is it very painful it comes with serious risks. Sometimes central lines are unavoidable, but if you want to maximise the commercial potential of your drug you would do everything you can to enable peripheral IV infusion instead.
