if the listed entity was a large pharmaceutical company your value would automatically be diluted by effectively taking on an entire portfolio. Some in development, some nearing patent cliff, some being knocked off by better drugs:
It’s in part why the big BP needle doesn’t move much even when they are the ones acquiring opportunities.
if it’s a smaller listed entity with no pipeline and heaps of cash, you might seriously question how they got that cash, management track record, and being in such a position where they need to start all over again.
