You may turn out to be correct, but my point was that your statement that "all of the volume go through much lower than a manufactured high close" was not strictly true. It did appear that way, but a lot of volume went through within a couple of cents either way of the close price. Based on the distance from VWAP, it could be argued that the low of the day was more "manufactured" than the close.
