I might try and find out more but I guess that institutional money would just stop buying.
the share price would drop and spook retail investors who would then sell to the waiting buyers.
I know that liquidity grabs happen a lot.
Timing this near lows can be pretty effective.
that chart with the 3 red volume bars is pretty telling imo
