While technically it is a P1 trial, for all practical reasons, it is a P1b / P2 trial. What already has been proven - it is huge and totally misunderstood / unappreciated that what is proven that the crystallisation issues of RC110 is resolved and works safely and that the RC220 / doxorubicin (in the clinic as a world first) also works safely. We know that bisantrene is an effective anti cancer drug and also that it protects the heart (and may protect other organs as well). While further results required to establish the right dose and to prove that bisantrene still will protect the heart when used together with doxorubicin as well as improves the efficacy of doxorubicin. This is a huge progress as what has been already been proven previously was only a non clinical based fact and assumption. Being a bit more realistic and appreciate what has been achieved by the scientist and the various teams should be looked at what it is. As the trial(s) will progress it will reveal both the extent of the anti cancer efficacy of the combination as well as the heart (other organ) protection and will provide very valuable data towards achieving the end goal(s). This is how I see it not just another P1 trail starting it now drug.
