So could you please explain when would you consider that "it has been proven in humans"? Phase 2 completed? Phase 3 completed? FDA Approved? This drug Bisantrene has been proven - both being cardio protective as well as efficacy - in several trials - even approved - just a version which had the crystallisation issue. It has even been trialled with other drugs as well in combination. What it does not have the actual trial with doxorubicin that it will work very well, but it has a much higher chance than a drug which has been just developed and starting its life via the various trials. The existing cancer killing and cardio protective traits will not disappear, so the questions remains how it will work in combination with doxorubicin. To be successful it has to show that its heart protection will be still very good and the combined efficacy - including doxorubicin's own and known efficacy - is not reduced but improved. For people who can't get it, it is fine but they might should consider alternative investments where the drug is already "proven in humans". The ROI will be very different, but this is risks and returns.
