If you look at the SP over the last year you will see there has been numerous times when the SP has retraced after a run. After each retrace the SP has gone higher. In my opinion the SP rises have all been driven by news and the falls by the charts - Peter’s resignation is about the only exception and nearly everyone got what that meant wrong.
If you think you can predict when significant news will arrive then trading the stock makes a lot of sense, if not well...
