A lot to like in this post, but I should correct that I didn’t picked NST in 2011. I wish I had, but back then I wasn’t an stock market investor.

Australia as a country really has all the ingredients to be a biotech powerhouse. We have the scientists, we have the right regulatory environment, the right language, and we even have the right government support. What we lack are investors with the right outlook. We have them in the resource sector, which at the spec end is even more risky than biotech, but for some reason we lack them in biotech. It should not be possible for someone like me to do DD on the listed biotechs and find a company as good as RAC for 4.5c.

While @EWexplorer thinks things can’t change as it is just human nature, I think it will only takes a small amount of smart(er) money to change the sector from a trader's paradise to a place where serious money is made over the long term. We have companies like CSL that have shown how it is done, but for some reason too many think only of the quick buck (like Rory above who sold out because he didn’t make an instant profit). None of us can change the world on our own, but we can all help nudge it in the right direction.
