My guess is it could potentially delay a buyout until the market recovers, which if 2020 was anything to go by, will be about 8 months. Increasing numbers of retail investors waiting for a dip, correction or crash are more likely to stabilise a market in freefall, and there's many more of us right now. I could go on a whole rant about retail stabilising the market by being "dumb money", but I'll stop here.
