To answer your ''would investors ride it down to whatever the lowest low'', I do. Unless fundamentals of a company change.
I have rode something down around 68% where I started to accumulate and is now free carried. Depends on the company, personal circumstances and ability to take that risk, obviously.
For traders, I believe it is their food on table. Loose the initial capital, they lose their livelihood.
For an investor, they can take more risk, which in turn means they do not have to put those tight stop losses, because even if they go red, it won't affect their next water bill. Hope that makes sense W3?
