Fair question, I tend to think biotechs might be different in their SP profile to other sectors as a 100% premium on current share price will not cut the mustard if the share holder base know what their projected yearly revenue would be.
I think this is why people talk about offers of between 4-5x peak annual sales within the biotech space.
Until companies are able to de risk their position through successful trial results, it makes sense that long consolidation periods in SP take place with accelerated rises in price when new data is available.
