I knew someone would mention it. I think it's a pretty fair metric. Removing all <1k holdings (to exclude unmarketable parcels) paints a similar picture.
The rusty longs have remained pretty constant. I don't think it's worthwhile using this group as a benchmark as it's not their selling that has hammered the price down... The >100k holders alone absorbed more shares than JC sold in the last quarter - although unsure how many of these might have been option conversions.
Q4 - 251 holders with 104,496,001 shares vs Q3 - 244 holders with 104,124,569 shares.
