Yes option holders can convert their options at any time before they expire. It can make sense to covert early if you are expecting a capital gains event more than 12 months out. If, just for example, RAC were to be taken over in 18 months time then you might want to convert your options early so you can get access to the CGT discount.
RAC will certainly need more cash, but not in the immediate future. We are totally committed to keeping any dilution to an absolution minimum - after all nobody who has put their own cash into a company wants to see the value of it diluted away.
