It's not like DT is going to be selling his share in RAC anytime soon.
There is no benefit for him if the share price is $1 or $10, so the talking up is irrelevant for him.
He is just stating his opinion with the aim to re-assure investors that all is on track and not to panic.
The way i read DT (i haven't met him) is that he is here for the long haul. He is here to extract as much money for share holders as possible and to see the buy out of the business by a BP.
It's not like DT is going to be selling his share in RAC anytime...
