It probably won't take 6 months before the first patient is enrolled - once again Michelle was just being very conservative.

We need to obtain ethics approval and then governance approval and since both these are outside our control it can be hard to say exactly when this process will be complete. Sometimes ethics goes smoothly and it only takes a month, other times they ask several rounds of questions and it takes 3 or 4 months. Sometimes the sites are efficient and you get governance approval in a few weeks, other times they fluff around for months with the paper work sitting on someone's desks collecting dust.
