I don't understand the point you're trying to make.
If the SP rises by 1c everyone would still see the same relative increase in their account, regardless of whether they've exercised their options, or not.
Also, the hypothetical $3750 is the real figure in play here. If invested correctly over the 6 month period, in a stock that may actually produce a return, then some RAC shareholders might be willing to take that chance.
I wouldn't hold it against them if they did.
