Ok so I've watched this a few times and this is my take. Yes there is a big problem with violence toward Aboriginal women..from both Aboriginal partners AND white partners (as well as non partners). HOWEVER KAK (KKK) did draw a straight line and I believe an inappropriate line. Just because there is violence DOES NOT mean they shouldn't protest on what they perceive to be invasion day.They are seperate issues and you can be against BOTH.
I couldn't give a flying f***k if the date was changed. We're not talking about abolishing Australia Day..only a date change. Big effing deal! It seems some of you are attached to the date like babies to a dummy. As long as there is a day where we can celebrate together I can't see a problem. The current date further marginalises, discriminates, segregates, traumatises and minimises many Aboriginal people so let's change it.
