I agree. Justice has been done to a rapist. Let’s leave the Lebanese Muslim community out of it.
They didn’t collectively do the rapes and it is a sick attitude of mind to want to take it out on them. The national Sorry to Aborigines movement has something to answer for in encouraging such a sick attitude of mind.
How so? The Sorry people want me, an Anglo-Celt, to say sorry for something I didn’t do. They want me, who didn’t do anything, to say sorry to today’s Aboriginal people who didn’t have anything done to them. In this way the Sorry people insidiously encourage us to think of a blameworthy collective guilt.
I’m not going to say hypocritical sorries because of a collective guilt I don’t admit to. Likewise I’m not going to attribute collective guilt to today’s Lebanese Muslim community.
Go after the individual rapists, I say. And let’s hope the police catch more.
